Clinigen South Africa is part of Clinigen Limited which is a rapidly-growing global speciality pharmaceutical and services company with a unique combination of businesses focused on delivering the right medicine to the right patient at the right time to improve the quality of people's lives around the world. The Group consists of five synergistic businesses focused in three areas of global medicine supply: clinical trial, unlicensed and licensed medicines.
The complementary businesses operate efficiently in a complex global regulatory environment and can ensure that precious medicines are delivered securely and effectively, wherever they are needed throughout the product lifecycle. The Clinigen Group provides patient access to their own and other pharmaceutical companies' products, whether to meet unmet medical needs or for use in clinical trials.
A key strategy of the South African operations, whose pharmaceutical range consists of both propriety and in-licensed products, is a commitment to building lasting relationships with blue chip pharmaceutical and medical technology companies throughout the world. They support key customers and hospital pharmacists throughout the region as there is increasing demand for hospital based oncology, anti-infective, orphan and other crucial drugs in emerging markets. With their underlying philosophy of getting the right drug to the right patient in the quickest possible time, no matter the location.
The South African entity consists of five operational companies that provide a variety of products and services. The five companies are, Equity Pharmaceuticals, Novagen Pharma, Homemed, Equipharm Specialised Distribution and Equity Medical Technologies.

- Equity Pharmaceuticals
Equity Pharmaceuticals is the prescription product division of Clinigen South Africa.
Our core range of essential medicines is used to meet an ever-expanding mix of medical needs in a variety of therapeutic areas. Equity Pharmaceuticals currently has niche products in the following therapeutic areas: Gastroenterology, Substance, Abuse, Allergy, Cardiology, Anaphylaxis, Analgesia/Anaesthesia, Anti-infective, Endocrinology, ENT, Intensive care, Metabolic disease, Neurology, Oncology, Orphan Drugs, Transplantation and Toxicology. Equity Pharmaceuticals supports Pharmacists and Physicians by sourcing and supplying Section 21 medicines both locally and internationally. We also specialize in products for the treatment of ulcerative colitis and for the symptomatic treatment of bowel spasms and bloating in irritable bowel syndrome as well as products assisting with the treatment of opiate narcotic addiction.
- Equity Medical Technologies
Equity Medical Technologies is a supplier of Advanced Wound Care products to the medical fraternity - which includes: Private Nurse Practitioners, Doctors, Private Hospital Groups, Government Hospitals, Distributors and Pharmacies. Our specialised woundcare service provides Negative Pressure Wound Therapy to patients in need of active granulation in more severe wounds. EMT differentiates ourselves by providing our customers with superior service and building strong relationships with our Private Nurse Practitioners, Surgeons, Medical Aids and Hospital groups on a national level.

Equipharm Specialised Distribution is a Storage & Distribution Warehouse that store and distribute Pharmaceutical Products and Medical Devices for its Clinigen sister companies throughout South Africa and African countries...
- Equity Section 21
Equity Section 21 specialises in the import and supply of unlicensed medicine into South Africa.
We are able to give physicians in South Africa a treatment option (final pricing, lead-time, application process etc.) within 24 hours.
We currently import and supply around 450 different products on Managed Access or Global Access Programs.
We keep our top 150 unlicensed products on hand in our warehouse to ensure we are able to assist patients immediately.
We have build up a large network of suppliers/wholesalers around the world and are the market leaders in UL Supply in South Africa since 2009.
- Homemed
Homemed provides quality diagnostic tests and medical devices. At Homemed we pride ourselves in providing exceptional after-sales service and aim to add value to you and/or your business. Homemed offers a wide range of rapid diagnostic tests and medical devices, including Glucose, HbA1c, Cholesterol, Cardiac Markers, HIV, Malaria, PSA, Pregnancy, Urinalysis and Drugs of Abuse.
- Novagen Pharma
Novagen Pharma, an independent privately owned pharmaceutical company based in Pretoria, was established in March 2009.The company markets a comprehensive range of generic antiretroviral and chronic products in the South African Pharmaceutical market. Novagen Pharma serves a target market of specialists, general practitioners and pharmacies through a national footprint of wholesalers.
